Kanta has more than 20 years professional experience in natural resources management, environment management, and climate adaptation issues. Her current responsibilities cover the World Bank’s adaptation policy and knowledge efforts. She is leading the work on the ”Turn Down the Heat” Series and the development of tools for climate risk screening. She is also the World Bank's Focal Point for the PPCR, working with the pilot country teams to nurture shared learning, knowledge exchange, and communities of practice to advance the climate resilient agenda, which includes a strong focus on hydromet and climate services. Earlier she worked in the Middle East North Africa region of the World Bank, leading on adaptation and conservation initiatives in the agricultural and rural landscapes in Yemen, Jordan, Tunisia, and Morocco. Prior to the World Bank, she worked at the Global Environmental Facility, University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom, and at the World Wildlife Fund in Malaysia. She has a Ph.D. from the University East Anglia, UK.
