The Climate Investments Funds organized the PPCR Pilot Countries Meeting (PCM) took place from 21 to 24 May 2018 in Manila, Philippines. The meeting was co-hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Philippines, the PPCR focal point in the country.
The overall purpose of the meeting was to foster peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing among PPCR countries of their experience in PPCR implementation and related efforts in their respective countries and regions to achieving climate resilience. Delegates from PPCR countries, multilateral development banks (ADB, AfDB, EBRD, IDB, IFC, and World Bank), and other development partners participated in the meeting.
The meeting involved a 3-day plenary/breakout group format and an additional day was allocated for participants to join site visits in selected adaptation and resilience projects in the country.
During the first 3 days, the discussions were articulated along the following four themes:
Each theme was structured as follows: Plenary address (1 hour); Break-out sessions (1.5 hours); and Knowledge Fair (1 hour). A number of eminent speakers and adaptation experts were also invited to participate in the discussions and to share state of the art knowledge and insights on adaptation and resilience actions.
The last day was devoted to site visits of participants to two adaptation and urban resilience projects in the country; one in Marikina City and the other in Angeles City.
