Cities and urban areas in the developing world are on the front lines of the climate crisis. With the right investments and technical support, we can drive transformative climate action and create cities of tomorrow that are coordinated, compact, and connected. CIF is committed to leading the way with the Climate Smart Cities investment program, and is delighted to partner the Government of Rwanda for this COP28 event.
The session will draw on diverse perspectives and showcase the example of Green City Kigali development project, a first of its kind in Africa promoting compact, low carbon transport options including use of nature-based interventions for its drainage system and in its design.
