The Climate Investment Funds (CIF), the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) co-hosted the “CIF Asia-Pacific Knowledge Exchange” from April 1-4, 2024 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This four-day knowledge event brought together the Pacific Regional Program and 12 countries from across the region to showcase innovations, outcomes, and lessons from CIF’s financing through the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) and the Forest Investment Program (FIP).
Discussions focused on climate resilience, sustainable forestry, and nature-based solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. CIF’s mandate as a learning laboratory places a strong emphasis on South-South learning and knowledge exchanges. These types of engagements, which draw on collective and collaborative knowledge, are considered critical to capturing and sharing timely, relevant, and strategic lessons that inform the direction and use of climate finance. For this reason, countries from across the region showcased insights and challenges that emerged from CIF’s FIP and PPCR projects over the last 15 years. These lessons can support the design and implementation of new projects and programs on related themes, including new CIF programs like the Nature, People, and Climate Investment Program and potential future programs focusing on resilience.
