SREP Expert Group
An Expert Group has been established by the SREP Sub-Committee to make recommendations on the selection of country or regional programs. The Expert Group has the mandate to recommend six pilots to be considered by the SREP Sub-Committee and a list of an additional three countries in case additional funds become available or one of the pilots turns out not to be feasible. The Group will produce a report that includes its recommendations and methodology which will be reviewed by the Sub-Committee in June 2010.
Expert Group Members (pdf)
- willingness to undertake a program for renewable energy development that may lead the country toward a low carbon development path in the energy sector;
- potential capacity for implementation, including a business friendly environment; and
- suitable country conditions for scaling-up renewable energy, such as urbanization, industrialization, dispersed rural populations and the country’s stage of renewable energy development.
